Product Form Update - What's Changed and Why

The Product Form on Bottlebooks underwent significant changes in October, 2025.

We’ve redesigned the product form to make it simpler, clearer, and better aligned with how producers, importers, and retailers describe wines. The updates consolidate related fields, modernize packaging data, and introduce compliance-friendly identifiers, all while keeping familiar terminology where possible.

A Better Form

  • Simpler to complete: Related questions are grouped together, reducing scrolling and duplication.
  • Easier for retailers: Packaging, classification, and identifier data are now better aligned with international standards such as GS1 and EPR regulations.
  • Future-proof: Supports sustainability, logistics, and regulatory data sharing.
  • Your previous form data remains mapped to the new structure.

Packaging Structure Overhaul

The Packaging section has been rebuilt from the ground up to align with GS1 trade item standards and EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) reporting requirements. It is now divided into Primary, Secondary and Tertiary packaging.

Each level includes its own measurements (weight, dimensions) and material details. This ensures consistent sustainability reporting, logistics data sharing, and compatibility with retailer systems.

Some packaging fields (like generic weight) have been replaced by standardized gross/net measurements.
