QR Codes and E-Label Hosting Options

When creating E-Labels with Bottlebooks, you have three different options for how your QR codes behave and where they direct consumers.

Standard Option: Host E-Labels with Bottlebooks
Redirection: Point the QR Code to an External Webpage
Custom Domain: Use Your Own URL with Bottlebooks Hosting

Standard Option: Host E-Labels with Bottlebooks

When you create a QR code in Bottlebooks, it will generate a short URL starting with [q.bottle.info].
Scanning the code will take the consumer directly to your Bottlebooks-hosted E-Label page.

Flow

QR Code → Bottlebooks → Bottlebooks E-Label Page

Fee

Requires a Bottlebooks E-Labels subscription.

Additional Work for You

None.

Redirection: Point the QR Code to an External Webpage

Instead of using the default Bottlebooks E-Label page, you can configure your QR code to redirect to a webpage of your choice.
The QR code still starts with [q.bottle.info], but redirects to an external URL you provide.

Flow

QR Code → Bottlebooks → Your Webpage

Fee

Free

Additional Work for You

You are responsible for building and maintaining the page.
The content must meet EU e-label requirements.

Risks

You must ensure that the external page is always online, correct, and compliant.

Custom Domain: Use Your Own URL with Bottlebooks Hosting

This option allows you to brand the short URL by using your own domain, while still hosting the E-Label on Bottlebooks.

Flow

QR Code → Your Domain → Bottlebooks E-Label Page

URL Structure

There are three components of the URL that are important to understand for this option.
E.g.: qr.yourcompany.com**/bottlebooksgeneratedcode**
qr. → your chosen subdomain (we recommend "qr." or "m.")
yourcompany.com → your main domain
bottlebooksgeneratedcode → a unique code generated per product

Fee

Bottlebooks E-Labels subscription, plus €500/year (subject to change) additional fee.

Additional Work for You

Your will need to configure your DNS to point your domain to Bottlebooks' servers.
